Review: Jack Templar & The Lord of Werewolves

Jack Templar 4 Tour

Fresh from confronting the Lord of the Vampires in the limestone catacombs beneath Paris, Jack Templar faces his toughest challenge yet as he searches for the next Jerusalem Stone, this one being held by the Lord of the Werewolves.

But the narrow escape from the vampire lair came at a great cost and Eva battles for her survival. The only chance to help Eva is to continue their quest and find the Jerusalem Stones. Reuniting the Stones will not only stop Ren Lucre’s coming war against mankind, but also transform Eva back into her human self.

From the ruins of ancient Delhi to the depths of the Black Forest in Germany, Jack and his friends face monsters, bewildering riddles and treachery from the most unlikely of places. Through it all, they are plagued by the Oracle’s prediction that at least one of their group will not make it through the adventure alive. Worse yet, they know that Kaeden, the Lord of the Werewolves, will do his best to make sure none of them do.

But they are monster hunters of the Black Watch…and they will do their duty, come what may.

My Thoughts:
I have only one big problem with these books.   It's that I have to wait so long to read the next one!!  Each one of these books has been such an adventure that I read them in about a day.  This book follows in line with the others in the series with exceptional characters and scenery.  However, now we're really getting to see Jack grow up and realize there are consequences to all choices, good & bad.  While Jack's enemies think his loyalty and love for his friends are his weakness, I think we'll see that they are his greatest strengths. The descriptions of the monsters are fantastic. Another aspect of this series that I like is that the enemies Jack faces have complicated histories that led them to be what they are.  It makes the story much more interesting.   I highly recommend this series to ages 11 & up, girl or boy. You do need to read the other books before this one, but why wouldn't you?!  They're awesome!!

Here's something a little extra!!  I couldn't help myself.  I kept thinking what fantastic movies these books would make so here are my choices for characters.

Jack Templar - Peyton Meyer

Eva - Danielle Campbell

Daniel - Cody Christian

Ren Lucre - Sebastian Roche

Aquinas - Helen Mirren

Will - Jake Short

T-Rex - Robert Capron

Xavier - Tyrel Jackson Williams

Kaeden Lord of the Werewolves - Ian Somerholder

About the author:

jeff

Jeff Gunhus is the author of the Amazon bestselling supernatural thriller, Night Chill, and the Middle Grade/YA series, The Templar Chronicles. The first book of the series, Jack Templar Monster Hunter, was written in an effort to get his reluctant reader eleven-year old son excited about reading. It worked and a new series was born. His book Reaching Your Reluctant Reader has helped hundreds of parents create avid readers. Killer Within is his second novel for adults. As a father of five, he and his wife Nicole spend most of their time chasing kids and taking advantage of living in the great state of Maryland. In rare moments of quiet, he can be found in the back of the City Dock Cafe in Annapolis working on his next novel. If you see him there, sit down and have a cup of coffee with him. You just might end up in his next novel.

  1. I love this series! I don't read a lot of middle grade but this one I can't seem to put down. Even my oldest son loves it! I can't wait for the next one, yes it's too long to wait! Awesome review!
